Welcome to Dustwatch
A community research project, monitoring the extent and severity of wind erosion across Australia. The strength of DustWatch is in the local knowledge given to us by a nation-wide network of volunteers. The observations of dust activity submitted to us by DustWatchers is combined with data from monitoring equipment, meteorological records and satellite imagery to give us a more comprehensive understanding of dust transport processes in Australia. DustWatch is a source of information for the Federal Government, and Regional Catchment Management Authorities.

Dustwatchers can submit their observations online and read Dust Event Reports from recent dust events. We encourage you to share photos, videos or stories of dust in your local area, or read about dust activity in our education section.
